Dwr Cymru Cyfyngedig - Transfer for abstraction and Impoundment
Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Water Act 2003)
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006 that two applications have been made to Natural Resources Wales by Dwr Cymru Cyfyngedig for licences to transfer water from Nant Clydach Reservoir, Pontypridd, within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the following National Grid References: ST 02916 96654, ST 02867 96587, ST 02702 96710 and ST 02661 96802, for the purpose of transferring it to:
- Nant Clydach at National Grid Reference ST 02964 96564, at the following rates and periods: 72 cubic metres and hour, 1,728 cubic metres a day and 34,560 cubic metres a year, all year. Application Reference Number PAN-028078.
- Clydach Reservoir Spillway at National Grid Reference ST 02917 96644, at the following rates and periods: 360 cubic metres and hour, 8,640 cubic metres a day and 760,320 cubic metres a year, all year. Application Reference Number PAN-028980.
The water will be abstracted for the purpose of transferring it between the sources of supply referred to above without intervening use, over a period of 15 months .
An application is also being made for a licence to make changes to an existing impounding structure at Clydach Reservoir at National Grid Reference ST 02899 96608 at the above location. The purpose of the changes are to reduce the storage capacity of the reservoir. The capacity of the reservoir at overflow level will be 5,200 cubic metres. Application Reference Number PAN-028183.
